Chris’s focus is assisting medical providers with disputes against managed care organizations, particularly within the realm of claims reimbursement. This encompasses the wide range of managed care issues encountered by providers, including plan coverage, medical necessity, level of care and utilization review, amongst others. Additionally, Chris represents providers in litigation against self-funded and fully insured employee benefit plans, with an emphasis on ERISA and the jurisdictional issues it poses. Chris also aids medical providers with managed care contractual disputes (and reimbursement issues under managed care contracts); negligent misrepresentation of insurance coverage and benefits by payors; violations under the Texas Insurance and Administrative Codes and DTPA for prompt payment of claims; TPA and plan administrator issues under ERISA; and reimbursement and COB issues with Medicaid managed care organizations.
In his free time Chris likes to watch sports, read, and enjoy the majesty of the great outdoors from his living room couch.
